Yes, Chef Arc Review

Yes, Chef Arc Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today, I am back with an Arc review! Thank you to Avon Books, NetGalley, and Grace Reilly for sending me a copy. Let's get into it!

Yes, Chef is a delightful romcom following, social media influencer Poppy Winfield who is down on her luck and on a mission to prove herself to her father. When an opportunity presents itself, she takes a leap of faith to help open a restaurant, but that means working with Jack Hartman, the man she cannot stand. Jack Hartman is a renowned chef who is also down on his luck. When an old restaurant is left to him, he decides to fix it up and use it to prove himself to none other than Poppy’s dad.

Reluctantly, Poppy and Jack work together to use make the restaurant spectacular. Poppy works on the marketing and social media aspect while Jack does the cooking. The more they work together, the closer they become they realize how they misunderstood the other. Neither are like what they thought. When all is said and done with the restaurant, will they still want what they originally set out for? Will their relationship turn into something they can’t live without?

I absolutely enjoyed the heck out of this book!

Jack and Poppy’s relationship really blossomed into something cute. Poppy was very understanding and caring, and Jack was also very understanding and really let Poppy be herself. Enemies to lovers makes me nervous sometimes because the characters can be too mean towards each other. The hostility feels too real and too mean. Jack and Poppy’s relationship crossed the line sometimes, but overall it can be chalked up to them being complete opposites and misunderstanding each other.

I loved getting to see Jack’s softer side especially when he was teaching Poppy how to cook and letting her help with the menu. They really came to trust each other.

Poppy is one of my new favorite female main characters. She was so determined and positive and it truly felt like she never let anything stop her. She’s a very relatable character.

Things I liked: Poppy’s determination and positivity, the cooking lessons, dual POV, ADHD representation

Tropes: opposites attract, found family, grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, friends with benefits.

Overall, I would give this 4/5 stars. It was so cute. I honestly need to find more cooking romroms because this gave me all the early 2000s romcom feels.

Yes, Chef is out July 21!

Alright folks, that is all I have for this week! Come back next week for another blog post. As always, thank you for reading :)
