My Favorite Stand-alone Books

My Favorite Stand-alone Books

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today, I want to talk about the books you might want to pick up if you're not in the mood for a seven book series. So, let's get into it!

More often than not, you will find me reading a stand-alone book. Meaning I'm not about to be reading an eight part series. Sometimes I don't want that kind of commitment. I just want something easy. For anyone not familiar with the term, stand-alone as you can guess just means its a one off book. It's not part of a greater series, you don't need to read any books before or after it to understand what's happening.

I have curated a list of my favorite stand-alones in my two favorite genres, Romance and Thriller. The list is not in any particular order:

Romance:

  • Happy Place by Emily Henry
  • Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
  • Loathe to Love You by Ali Hazelwood
  • Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  • The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

Thriller:

  • What Lies in the Woods by Katie Alice Marshall
  • Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
  • Final Girls by Riley Sager
  • None of This is True by Lisa Jewell
  • Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter
  • One by One by Ruth Ware

Honestly, any of Emily Henry's or Riley Sager's books are great stand-alones if you're looking for something quick, thought-provoking, but easy. I'm very hard on my thriller ratings, so these are the ones I loved and would read again.

Alright folks that is all for this week! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post. As always, thank you for reading :)
