In Stormy Weather Book Review

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today, I am back with another book review – well actually, an arc review. Thank you so much to Chelsea Curto and Atria Books for allowing me to read an arc of In Stormy Weather. I love Chelsea Curto’s D.C. Stars hockey series, so this was a no brainer in my head. So, let’s get into it!

In Stormy Weather, follows Quincy Monroe who hosts her own blog/social media brand called The Rainy Day Show. She teaches people about different weather phenomenon while educating people on how to stay safe if any of these events were to occur. She’s worked hard to make a name for herself and wants to continue to grow her career in her field. Enter Sebastian Dunn who is very go with the flow, the golden boy in the weather industry and Quin’s academic/career rival. He’s looking for something to revive his love for his career as things have been stagnant for him.

These two have known each other since junior high and have been taking digs at each other forever. Quincy chalks it up to hate, while Sebastian finds that he loves to rile Quincy up. With Sebastian home for the summer, Quin accepts having to tolerate him. But lines start to blur when they keep running into each other, chasing storms together. Maybe Quincy doesn’t hate Sebastian?

I have always been a huge fan of Chelsea Curto. As I said before, I love the D.C. Stars series. Curto knows how to write men and a well-balanced-chemistry-off-the-charts relationships. I couldn’t stop giggling at the banter between Qunicy and Sebastion. A man obsessed is literally one of my favorite tropes and Curto does it so well. Sebastian and Qunicy are one of my new favorite book couples.

Overall, I thought the entire pacing of the book was done well. Nothing felt rushed, the storms and hurricanes felt authentic. It felt like I was reading Twister – in the best way possible. I loved how Sebastian and Quincy had such open communication. Sebastian is the definition of a man written by a woman. They were so honest with each other, and the way Sebastian would stick up for Quincy?? SWOON! He respected her independence but stepped in when necessary.

I absolutely adored this book, and I can’t wait to buy a physical copy of it. This was my first 5 star read of 2026! Starting off with such a phenomenal book.

In Stormy Weather is out July 14! Pre-orders are going on right now!

Things I loved: The chemistry between Quincy and Sebastian, Sebastian and Quinny’s communication (no miscommunication trope here!!), Quinny Baby, the pacing, no third act break up, and dual POV.

Tropes: Best friend’s brother, he’s obsessed, forced proximity, women in stem, banter as foreplay, just once to get it out of our systems. Also Recommend: D.C. Stars series by Chelsea Curto
