Gloves Off Blog Post
Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today, I am back with another book review. I love a good hockey romance book, and I love anything by Stephanie Archer which makes this the perfect combo. I had the pleasure of getting an ARC copy of this book, and I was so so so excited to be able to review it. So, let's get into it!
Gloves Off is the fourth book in the Vancouver Storm series. We finally got Georgia and Alexei's story! From reading the other books in the series, we already know these two do not like each other at all. Good thing this is a marriage of connivence story. Georgia wants to gain access to her hefty inheritance but there's a stipulation. She has to be married. Alexei is having issues with his work visa and has to be able to stay in the country to continue playing hockey. He needs to get married.
The two are looking for someone who they won't get attached to. A marital business arrangement if you will. Despite both of them hating each other, they agree to a marriage. Of course, over time they realize they don't know each other at all. Maybe Georgia isn't a rich brat whose parents pay for everything, and maybe Alexei isn't a heartless hockey player to only cares about himself. One thing is for sure though, as their marriage continues keeping themselves unattached becomes more and more of an issue.
I absolutely love anything and everything Stephanie Archer writes, and an enemies to lovers/marriage of connivence story? Sign me up. I've been dying to read Alexei and Georgia's story since we first got a glimpse of them earlier in the series.
I think the way their chemistry is written is so well done. I adored these two and was rooting for them the entire time (just like their friends). The hate turned love was so beautifully written. They want to get to know each other, invest time into each other. UGH, I love them. Each book in the series keeps getting better and better. We even caught a glimpse of the couple for the next book (iykyk). I'm so excited for the series to continue!
Overall, I would highly recommend checking on the Vancouver Storm series, and Archer's other series Queen's Cove if you need something in the interim. I gave Gloves Off 5/5 stars!
Alright folks, that is all I have for this week! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post. As always, thank you for reading :)
